Zoe Milton is your average woman, she's comfortable in her marriage so she's got a little more "curvy" since her University days. Ok, she's got 5 stone more "curvy", but so has her husband Greg. It's not like it's really affecting there lives... well not a huge amount.
Enter Elise, Zoe's very well meaning, but totally over enthusiastic friend, who convinces Zoe to take part in a radio weight loss competition. There's just one snag, it's a couple's competition, so Greg gets dragged along for the ride too.
This book is genuinely laugh out loud funny. Zoe and Greg especially are incredibly easy to identify with and you can't help but love them. This book isn't really about weight loss, and the jokes aren't on people who are overweight, this book is about marriage, about the relationships we have with our friends, about self esteem and about hilarious mishaps.
I did think this would be a "girls book" but Greg plays just as strong a role as Zoe does, and I think there's something for everyone here regardless of gender.
